Aadhaar card has now become an essential document. Aadhaar card is issued by UIDAI. From taking advantage of government schemes to admission to schools, today Aadhaar number is necessary for everything.

UIDAI Aadhaar card contains information ranging from your name, address, and phone number to fingerprints. If you are also afraid that your Aadhaar number is being misused, then you can confirm it.

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), which manages Aadhaar, provides this facility, which lets you know when and where the Aadhaar number has been used. You can easily use this facility at home.

By following the steps given below, you can know where your Aadhaar card has been used.

mAadhaar Official App for Updates 

Universality: Residents with or without Aadhaar can install this App on their smartphones. However to avail personalized Aadhaar services the resident will have to register their Aadhaar Profile in the App. Aadhaar Online Services on Mobile: The mAadhaar user can avail the featured services for themselves as well as for any other resident seeking Aadhaar or related help.

The functionalities are broadly grouped as:

Main Service Dashboard: Direct access to download Aadhaar, Order a Reprint, Address Update, Download offline eKYC, Show or Scan QR Code, Verify Aadhaar, Verify mail/email, retrieve UID/EID, Request for Address Validation Letter

Request Status Services: To help residents check the status of various online requests.

My Aadhaar: This is a personalized section for Aadhaar holders where residents will not have to enter their Aadhaar number to avail Aadhaar services. In addition this section also provides facility for the resident to lock/unlock their Aadhaar or Biometric Authentication.

Aadhaar Locking – Aadhaar holder can lock their UID/Aadhaar number anytime they wish.

Biometric locking/unlocking secures biometric authentication by locking biometrics data. Once resident enables Biometric Locking system their biometric remains locked till the Aadhaar Holder chose to either unlock it (which is temporary) or Disable the Locking system.

TOTP generation – Time-based One-Time Password is an automatically generated temporary password which can be used instead of SMS based OTP.

Update of profile – To updated view of Aadhaar profile data after successful completion of update request.

Sharing of QR code and eKYC data by Aadhaar Number holder helps Aadhaar user share their password protected eKYC or QR code for safe and paperless verification.

Multi-profile: Aadhaar holder can include multiple (upto 3) profiles (with same registered mobile number) in their profile section.

Locate Enrolment Center helps user find nearest Enrolment Center.

Step:1

First of all, you have to go to the Aadhaar website or this link uidai.gov.in/.

Step:2

Here you will find the option of Aadhaar Authentication History under Aadhaar Services, click on it.

Step:3

Here you will see the Aadhaar number and security code, enter the same and click on send OTP.

Step:4

Then an OTP will come for verification on the registered mobile number linked with your Aadhaar, enter this OTP and click on submit.

Step:5

Then you have to fill in all the required information including Authentication Type Date Range and OTP.

Step:6

As soon as you click on Verify OTP, a list will appear in front of you, which will tell you when and where the Aadhar card has been used in the last 6 months.

Complain to UIDAI in case of misbehavior

By looking at the records, if you feel that the Aadhaar card has been misused, then you can file a complaint immediately. You can lodge a complaint by calling the toll-free number 1947 or emailing help@uidai.gov.in or you can also lodge a complaint online at https://resident.uidai.gov.in/.
